There’s a great interview to go with Jus-Ed’s Little White Earbuds podcast. Ed is one of the hardest working guys out there right now, without a doubt.
Kai mixes it up for Juno this month with some deep soulful goodness! Can’t wait to have him in February… (@freemagic)
Photobooth photos by the lovely Wet Paint are up, go forth and tag yourselves you sexy motherfuckers (click through on teh picture).

Free Magic and Jkriv - Chant and Sing EP by freemagic
Discovery is one of our best and longest standing dance parties here at Santos and for good reason - resident DJ’s Free Magic and FASO with support from the exceptional Famous Friends crew bring heavy vibes every single month without fail.
So it’s only logical they would start a label and that its first release, the Chant and Sing EP by Free Magic and Jkriv, would be stellar. Stream it above and if you’re a vinyl head act quick because there are only 300 copies! Read up on the label via Halycon and TimeOut for more goodies.
Find yourself in the funk Saturday Jan. 14th by grabbing advanced tickets on Resident Advisor. Special Guest Hot Toddy (Eskimo/Crazy P) will be sure to turn your night into a disco adventure like no other party can. See ya there!
Great excerpt from the Tim Lawrence book on Arthur Russel going over the creative process and making of Is It All Over My Face (@freemagic)
Picked up both of the Life’s Track releases on Bosconi, haven’t heard such a dynamic release in a while. Each of the 8 tracks is perfect for a different place and vibe, highly recommend checking him out. @freemagic
Second release from the new Plangent label. Great 808 groove brought home with just the right amount of bass and a nice falling melody. @freemagic
Instead of compiling our favorite tracks of the year, we’ve decided to compile our favorite photos of YOU from 2011! Special thanks to WET PAINT for the beautiful photos, and special thanks to YOU for your beautiful faces.
Click here to view them all. See you amazing people in 2012. Much love from DISCOVERY! <3

I give you, the Holiday Robot of Funk. Beck’s Hanukkah/Christmas version of “Little Drummer Boy” has been one of my favorite holiday songs since my mom used to put it on her Christmas mixtapes. This song brings back memories of celebrating both Christmas and Hannukah, and the sickly french fry smell of my mom’s blue Chevy Lumina. Merry Christmas, and Happy Hanukkah yall. (@damonjablons)

We’ve spent many years tracking down most of these tracks and they’re in our bags often. this compilation is a great introduction to MK and the iconic deep 90s sound.
